Cacimbo is the summer. Season without rain in Angola, which extends from May to the end of August. "Caximbo", as the Angolans pronounce it, becomes a state of mind. Dryness, dust that permeates everything and a deep longing. This book, in the language of a typically Bahian literary journalism, portrays the legacies and dissimilarities between Luanda and Salvador, female cities, daughters of the waters, captured in the cacimbo of 1998: Angola is the grandmother of Bahia and dengo has Banto--Quimbundu origins, summarizes the author. They are almost reports, almost poems, as shown by the imbudeiro (baobab), a tree symbol of Angola, with deep roots, a wide trunk and thin branches. Its branches remain bare, parched and dusty during the cacimbo, like the landscape, things, beings... Angolan times
